The following process is completed with each employee by our recruiters prior to Direct Staff submitting to any facility in order to assure you receive the most qualified candidates.

I. Prescreening and Interview of each candidate

  • Phone Interview
  • Personal Interview
  • Annual evaluations completed upon hire to keep information current

II. Reference Check – 3 Professional references obtained and verified

III. Professional Education

  • Highest Degree received verified
  • OSHA/The Joint Commission Competency – Record Dates administered to all that apply

IV. Competency Testing  - Administered through Nurse Testing.com

V. Certifications –

  • Annual CPR/BCLS
  • Other certifications as needed by specialty

VI. Medical Information

  • Initial Drug Screen – continuous random drug screens throughout employment with Direct Staff.
  • Physical
  • Immunization Records ( Must be signed by a Physician)
  • Hepatitis B Vaccination or Waiver Form

VII. Back Ground Check

  • Primary Source Verification
  • Professional Disciplinary Action Search
  • Criminal Background Search
  • Employment Verification
  • Social Security Number Verification
  • Sexual Offender and Predator Registry Search
  • OIG Lists
